anyone who has been there talked of a few things...
1) the shaking and throbbing ground (now dun we all understand what pastor has been saying abt 'hearing the dancing')
2) the inability to control tears
3) the awesome anointed UNITED players and singers.
4) their aching legs and feet
5) "Do It". *pause... "Do It." *twitches head
suffice to say, the whole event was awesome. the whole praise and worship really lifted me to heaven. for many times during tat worship, i really felt tat Jesus was holding me, giving me encouragement, holding me close, telling me that everything is GOOD. not just taken care of. not just covered up or taken away... but it's done in a super-abundant way. SO my Jesus. :)
there's realli this anointing abt Hillsongs... and United. and somehow, u gotta agree... it's not tat NCC's worship is lousier or worse in any way, frankly speaking, i LOVE n ADORE our worship songs too. but United is so different. perhaps it's the way they play? it's more for the youths? i seriously dun noe. and i really want to find out. then i found out... in a way i ALREADY knew. hahaha... so funny.
e Lord brought to my remembrance, the DVD from United tat we watched at Ade's place. n it struck me. No, they were NOT awesome from the start. No, they were NOT great players n singers from the start. LIKE US!! but look at them now. their excellence in music, and their sensitivity to the move of e Spirit. AWESOME. n wat changed them? more accurately to say, it's WHO changed them. :)
Speaking to the team after the worship, i realised one important point. UNITED ppl were damn lame. :p nonono!! wait!! kidding!! :p affected by them i swear. hehe. the important point is... they were VERY Jesus conscious. the move of God, they see it as a macro point of view. n it awes me.

n i just can't wait... when He builds me up too. oh wait... He's already building me up...

1.O God, why have you rejected us forever?Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture.
2.Remember the people you purchased long ago, the tribe of your inheritance, whom you redeemed – Mount Zion, where you dwelt.
3.Turn your steps towards these everlasting ruins, all this destruction the enemy has brought on the sanctuary.
4.Your foes roared in the place where you met with us; they set up their standards as signs.

This is an instructive Psalm of Asaph… so we are to learn from the timeless story of the faithfulness of God.
There have been so many times when the people of God have felt forsaken… or when circumstances seem like God has gone deaf to your plea…. Can it be possible that we become forgotten in the heart of God?? Impossible! In fact, the very groan of humanity was the very sound that echoed enough within the heart of God, and with that, Calvary became a reality.
So what do we do when the stretch of‘where is God’ is almost too much to bear? Well, this is where the true journey of faith starts, because remember, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen. Unseen hope….. doesn’t sound like much, but as I‘ve said before, it’s enough that you can hang your life from it.
One of my beautiful friends has been fighting a real battle for a few years now, and at times I will tell you, it was ALMOST too much to bear… but just this week, we received news that the battle is finally over… and she told me a couple of weeks ago, that the way she has grown through this trial, she wouldn’t change it for anything! Big words, Big God. Even the faith of a mustard seed is enough.
This is where this psalm starts to change. This is not an ordinary battle. The psalmist is asking God to intervene as this is now way out of his control… the psalmist starts to ask the Lord questions about those who come to the house of God and start to rise up… in fact, they come and absolutely cause havoc, eventually burning the house of God to the ground! The enemy is not known for showing respect or regard for the things of God… the house of God being no exception.
The psalm describes the idols filling the place of worship , the enemy mocking anything that resembles worship or sacrifice…. you can hear the angst in the writing, the humiliation experienced…and the cry.. ’GOD – MOVE by Your mighty hand!’ There is one thing when there is trouble coming in from the outside, but trouble from the inside is the worst. Trouble from anything or anyone that is in close proximity is the trouble that has the ability to burn the deepest.But the thing about the enemy that would come to destroy the church… well, try though he may, the Kingdom of God gets stronger and stronger. The cruelty explained in this psalm was deliberate, sincere and deep-seated.. set about to destroy the works of God. But persecution is like fuel on a Kingdom fire… it just seems to burn brighter if we take courage, and don’t lose heart.
You know, if it ever seems like God has folded his arms on you, you must never fold your arms on Him… this is where your prayers and your cries, well you must know that they are never insignificant and NEVER unheard.
Listen to 2 Corinthians 4:17–18
‘For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.’
Keeping trials in life in perspective is one of the great secrets of life… and learning to lay hold of God until you have received the victory is another. In our quick fix age, we are not good at truly being insistent when it comes to seeing the promises of God being revealed in our lives.
When the psalmist says in verse 12.. ’You are the King from long ago, You bring salvation to the earth’… well this is a powerful turning point in the text. To remember the past miracles of grace that we have experienced again and again, you begin to realise that our all powerful Lord WILL continue to deliver us from evil, no matter how overwhelming it seems at the time. It is the Lord who has done it all….and the word refers to vast evils as various dragons confronting us from the pit of hell, but read the word… the Lord has delivered us from them all.
The psalmist starts reminding God about His former victories over the many elements faced in life... Arise O God… He is reminded of the congregation, all of the individuals who are at risk…. And continues with great stories of Jehovah’s miraculous power. Even the lands and the seas receive their boundaries from Him… and as we are experiencing at the moment…. it may have been winter, but spring is on the way!!
The last stanza of the psalm asks for the oppressed to be able to return to their land with their heads held high. As you know, the Lord has always honoured the poor, the broken and the oppressed… and will ever tend to them with absolute grace and the greatest dignity, the psalmist is so passionate about the cause of these people, and we should always take our cue from this heart decision. On your way to victory, never forget those who were broken in the battle……
And finally, the longing is clear here, that the Lord Himself would take centre stage on the battle field, ultimately triumphing over all, putting the dragon to death once and for all…That when the righteous are persecuted and innocent blood is yet again spilled, that we realise that ultimate judgment will be executed, and that the Lord will have the final say.
Well, we never said this journey was for the faint hearted….be brave, full of faith, full of grace, full of kindness….. and when being ridiculed on the battlefield… learn to lay hold of God until you are confident you have been heard.

David did. He shot down goliath. Joshua did. n God brought down the walls of Jericho wif a shout. obstacles brought down in an instant, problems solved in less than a minute, death n life situations turned around at the 11th hour... God uses e foolish to confound the wise. yeah. but all these did not happen due to that instant... but to that CONSTANT trusting tat David n Joshua had. in the faith of e Lord, n in the power of His Majesty.

yes, sometimes it does seem hard to look n depend on Him when circumstances n problems seem so... real. but reality is not the Truth. n the Truth is tat Jesus has died for me tat i might have ALL the blessings in life, to enjoy an abundant life. a life worth living. n the only thing i can hold on to, it's not anything else... but His love. His shown n proven Love tat came n died for me. His shown n proven Love tat now sits on the right hand of God, with the only man-made thing in Heaven - His nailed-pierced hands n feet as proof n token of remembrance to our Daddy above, that yes, all is paid for. all is done. all is completed. we r made to be more than conquerors, becos He has conquered.
let's not fold our hands on Him dearest bros n siss. He can do exceedingly above all else we can think or imagine. He can, He WILL. not becos He has to due to the work done on the cross by His Son, but becos He was willing to let His Son die for u in the first place. He loves you. He loves you more than you can ever think or imagine. n when you picture tat love He has for you, that love which knows no height, no depth, no width and no breadth... you will understand why every circumstance, every name, every sin n every curse fall under His feet. cos Jesus is tat exalted. cos Jesus is tat great. cos Jesus is tat magnificent.

a journey of faith... His faith.
ok, first things first, this post is typed at 2 different times... the red part is the part tat was typed out on the 12th, n the yellow part on the 17th.
why u ask?? well, it's becos i was prompted to start on the 12th... but somehow, i couldn't complete it. n when i went for BS tat nite. i got the reason why. Jesus' love is soooooo awesome. :)

these few days have been rather 'spiritual' for me.
been reading the word a little these few days, n the scriptures r sooo awesomely connected!! let me share a few wif u guys. it's on the topic of faith... n i just know tat it's a word in season as there were signs n confirmation. haha. dunstan asked me in the car one day in regards to the verse 'ask n u shall receive'. he asked, 'why is it tat e bible says ask n u shall receive n yet everyone preaches tat u need to believe to receive??' n now i have the answer. the answer is a simple word - faith. why?? cos tat verse, 'ask n u shall receive', is said from God's point of view. God sees it tat way, e moment u ask, u receive. no qualms abt it. but why issit tat sometimes we dun receive?? where's e blessings?? why does the situation seems more like it's cursed!?!? a simple word of 'faith'. cos faith is the substance of things hoped for. the substancializing(is there such a word??? heck, i'm a lit student. muahahaha), n materialising n manifestation of things, comes by faith.
k, enuf said... let's dive into the scriptures!!
GALATIANS 3:9
9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.
ROMANS 4:16 NKJ
16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.
EPHESIANS 2:8 NKJ
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
From the scriptures above, we can see that God says tat those who are of faith are blessed. so wat does it mean to be 'of faith'?
romans 4:16 explains just tat. tat faith is according to grace. of the faith of Abraham. Abraham was not under law. he din even believe fully in God. Yes, he obeyed when God called. but look at his actions in regards to sarah. he OFFERED her to the kings. but wat happened after tat?? God blessed him. serious, go read it. did he deserve it?? no. why then was he blessed?? COS GOD IS GRACIOUS TOWARDS HIM. now put ourselves in his shoes. do we deserve His grace? NO. not you, not me, not bin laden, not anyone on this earth deserve His forgiveness. but yet, we have it, just as Abraham did. see, that God called him 'believing Abraham'. BELIEVING. why? simple, cos God cut the covenant wif him. n His views on abraham is based on that covenant n not abraham's behaviour or actions. this said, if abraham was blessed tat much, we should have a lot as well. cos we have a covenant tat's far better, FAR FAR better.
6 But as it now is, He [Christ] has acquired a [priestly] ministry which is as much superior and more excellent [than the old] as the covenant (the agreement) of which He is the Mediator (the Arbiter, Agent) is superior and more excellent, [because] it is enacted and rests upon more important (sublimer, higher, and nobler) promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been without defect, there would have been no room for another one or an attempt to institute another one.
whoa!! more important (sublimer, higher and nobler) promises!!! wat's up!! now we're talking!! show me the dough yo!!
12 For I will be merciful and gracious toward their sins and I will remember their deeds of unrighteousness no more.wooo la la... He will be merciful. He will be gracious. why? becos we have a good Mediator. a Mediator who will show His nail-pierced Hands to His Father to remind Him of the righteousness that we now inherit, that we now dwell in. woot!

tat faith is not an act, not an emotion, not something tat we strife for or work towards. it's a person - Jesus.

and becos of this Gift, i'm able to have every dream i've been dreaming. i'm able to RECEIVE all tat my Daddy has for me, that nothing needs to be achieved. for now i know, it's MY birthright. yes. now it's personal. for His death was for ME. His sacrifice was for ME. no, i'm not being selfish, i'm just living my life as how He sees it - just a personal walk btw Him n me. nothing else compares. nothing else matters. nothing comes close... to my Saviour tat's living in me. not my faith anymore, but His faith, His Jesus tat's living in me. oh yeah, tat feels good to say out. :)
2nd Thess 3:2-3
2 And that we may be delivered from perverse (improper, unrighteous) and wicked (actively malicious) men, for not everybody has faith and is held by it.
3 Yet the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen [you] and set you on a firm foundation and guard you from the evil [one].
see?? His faith. :)
question to all : so wat r YOUR dreams n desires?? wat r YOUR wants n needs?? i may not know the 4Ws(what where when why) but i do know the important W - Who. everything u need is found in that One. feel tat ur faith is failing n tat u need help believing for something u ask?? Hey, GOOD NEWS. fail for all i care. He wun fail, YET THE LORD IS FAITHFUL.
it's so subtle. at first, it's just pure trusting. it's just pure knowing tat God will deliver. then e devil uses 'faith' to grab us by the collar... tat we need faith to receive, which is true, but faith is not something tat u work or strife to have... faith is... *pause...

He came, and died tat we might have the birthright to the blessings. n we do have it. no matter whether you believe it or not. but for those who want the blessings THAT much, only know tat the blessings r here becos u ALREADY have it. e 'emotions of believing' does NOT affect whether u receive it or not. but if u wanna conquer tat as well, look no further than the verse above... e Lord is faithful, that HE will be the ONE tat strengthens you and set you on a firm foundation. He's the one tat does all the work.

the message preached was SOOOOO powerful!! n realli for such a time as this.
i'm so happy that the youths n parents of this church can hear such a rema word from God. it's SOOOO timely!! especially during this exam times when there r children taking exams, and their parents seemingly taking the exams WITH, n FOR them. :p i pray that this msg will reach out not just to all singaporeans, but to the whole world man. it will truly deliver ppl from the frightening n scary 'system' tat e devil has put in place to shackle us.
wat pastor preached was so real. i still remember, when i was young, how my daddy n mummy were everything to me. then somehow, tat changed. how everything was based on results. if i got an 'A', i would be rewarded. if not, i would be punished. n man i hated tat.
maybe u guys dun know tis... but to say the truth, 'tigger' - this nick, started to stick wif me when i was in primary school. but i dun usually say tat, n tat i would say tat it started in sec school due to my personality... well, e truth is tat it started in primary sch... but due to the caning i would get all the time for not doing homework correct... for not achieving enuf marks... for being talkative in class... for what ifs n what nots. to the point where i remember, tat i wanted to leave home. i did tell my mum tat in the face. but then i din have e ability to do so. then came sec school. n everything changed.
i had the allowance. i had the frens who could help. n i did left home. well... sorta.
i went home only thrice or 4 times each week... usually quoting my 'eca' as an excuse to stay in school. but wat i would be doing is staying overnight at my frens' place... playing computer games... watching drama serials(no, not goong, not korean or jap movies... it's wu xia xiao shuo. :p think condor heroes. xiao long nu...). yes lame. n a total waste of time. yes. totally agreed. n tat's why tis 'system' tat my parents put on me... i pray tat ALL parents in this world will not do so from now on, with this knowledge n wisdom from the Lord given to them.
thank God for such a word. it will not just save kids all around the world, but even adults as well. why? cos wat we learn from young, we bring it all the way to adulthood. tat's why i'm happy i'm a fool. cos i learnt little from my youth, n tat's why i dun need to unlearn so much. :p
ok, tat's bulls***, but seriously, i'm glad tat i'm given tat child like faith by Him. praise e Lord for tat. n praise e Lord for such good teachers like pastor prince, pastor mark, pastor chin n pastor daniel. praise God for them all, to teach me thru their preaching. :) hmmm, in a real thankful mood. yeah... the message is realli a godsend. can't think of a better word. youths rejoice!! weeeee!!
okok, back to why it helps adults as well. cos when they realise tat they r not under that system, but called by God to be above n out of it, they will triumph not just in their studies/work, they will excel in LIFE. by His grace. cos we will achieve n strife for wif our might, we will have to keep it wif our might. n from wat i've learnt so far from great examples around me(aka loser anthony - me lah), i've learnt tat wat u can achieve n keep... will only make u tired n miserable. cos it's so hard. so... tough. but wat we RECEIVE, thru His grace n mercy, thru His love n kindness, it will be kept tat way by Him. n wat He gives, He will never take away. n when He does, it's to give something even better. hehe.

hey man, u guys M-U-S-T go read sean's entries on the saturday event... they r awesome. especially his 2nd entry. reminded me of Lord of the Rings. so narrative, so... story-telling-like... it's beautiful. ahhh... i wanna take up literature as a subject again... study it... One Spirit. hehe. in the morning, when i was at work, n it started pouring, i thought of the night's event. at first i was thinking e same thing - worship under the stars at sentosa... the cancellation of the event. i was worried, but then i just suddenly remembered wat pastor said abt rain being blessing... n somehow, tat gave hope. n i took it. i began to see tat e physical rain was but a sign... of the 'spiritual' rain tat He was going to pour down on e ppl. n althou i din receive any msg watsoever... i feel so comforted tat God still remembers me as a member of the team... n got me to pray together wif them even in e secret. so cool!! :p
needless to say, e event was such a success... read sean's 2nd post on the Fort Gate. man i realli love it!! so... i've decided to plagarize. :p

I felt the power behind those words. It a "re-realization" all over again. Behind the music, the energy and the glamour, The Driving force behind what we do today is Christ and His Finished work. The Power Lies in His Life. We're never there just to put up a great show, rather we want to show What Jesus can do in us and through us. At the end of the day All that i want to be is Just a worshipper that God has Gifted, and not a Talented performer. Talent can never change anyone's Life for Good, I believe that only the Grace of God can Change Lives, only the Gospel of Christ Is the Power unto salvation. We're simply in the business of Pointing to Christ.
The crucial Message that Tells us that our sins are Forgiven forever, That we're Forever Loved, Forever righteous apart from works, that We ARE God's Beloved and that we'll never need to "earn" God. That a Heavenly Father Calls us who were once orphans His Children. We are Saved as a result of the Grace that Sent Us a Sinless Saviour who Took on the sin we were powerless to remove and Gave us His Righteousness which we did not deserve to Have.
Undeserved and Unearned Favor.
Powerful and Unchanging Love.
