how favoured we are
was attending charissa's 'farewell' dinner, n was just marvelling at how favoured she was. as edmund said, she's leaving for only a month, but still, so many pple showed up to give her support n encouragement, n to just fellowship wif her. praise God for tat. e children of God r always especially highly favored. which got me thinking abt favor again.
it's been quite long, for nearly a month now i think, tat i've not thought abt e favor of e Lord.
wat is the favor of e Lord?
Darlene Zschech describes it as a "kiss of heaven". a favor tat's unearned, n unmerited.
totally undeserved, unmerited favor. hee. i just love tis word - undeserved. cos wat it means is even undeserving me can have it, cos Someone deserved it for me. n tat's e bible definition for grace, which is undeserved favor. undeserved favor... for me.
who am i? who am i to receive anything tat e Lord has in Heaven? i am no one. but because e Lord favors e Son, who died for me, n took my place, n now tat i have taken His Kinship n His Kingship, we all stand on equal ground, in His sights of love n grace. cos we r now in His robes of righteousness n favor.
n how then? to receive e favor? (if there is a how...)
simple but astonishing truth, to just KNOW tat we re righteousness of God.
n it's really abt righteousness, cos e bible says it.
psalms 5:12
For You, Lord, will bless the [uncompromisingly] righteous [him who is upright and in right standing with You]; as with a shield You will surround him with goodwill (pleasure and favor)
psalms 84:11
For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
see? everytime His FAVOR is mentioned, upright-ness is mentioned. to those who worried like me, with thoughts like "oh no!! tat means i dun deserve it!" hey... relak one korner... cos think abt tis... WHO IN THE WORLD IS FIRMLY UPRIGHT?? NOT sorry to say so - NO ONE. anyone who breaks even a simple law of e 10 commandments, fails all. try NOT failing. we can't. we just can't. it's impossible. there was only ONE person in this world who was perfectly sin-less n ultimately... perfect. Jesus. n He died, for you n me, tat we can take His position. hooya!!
SIMPLE RIGHT!?!? to just know how righteous we are in Christ, how favored n how wise n RIGHTEOUS He was(see e ways He handled EVERYONE in every account in e bible, from sinner to pharisee. anyone who can catch Him doing one wrong thing pls highlight to me), n man, e Lord calls us e favored, n surrounds us with a shield. :)
anyone tested tis deliberately, or noticed tis before?? whenever we walked wif tat conscious realisation tat we r e righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, we always seem to be more favored, n not just by fellow Christians or mankind on e whole, but rather, somehow, everything seems to just like 'fall in place'. got got?? *grin
we r so righteous. becos of His act of love. not becos of anything we do, not becos of anything we did not do. it's Him n Him alone. hallelujah.
k, just wanna end tis post wif a prayer for charissa. she's just favored.
Lord, we thank You for Your favor on tis girl. Lord we thank You tat every minute of her journey in US, You will make it joyous n fruitful. You will cause all favor from everyone tat she comes into contact with to abound towards her. Also, she will not lack in any area of her life, be it health in any area, physical, mental, emotional, or financial, Father, we thank You tat in Your fullness, all lack will have to go. lastly, we thank You, Dad, tat charissa will grow even more spiritually, to discover more of Your grace n mercy as she goes on tis trip tat will be a glorification of Your name. In Jesus name, AMEN!!
