when the going gets tough...
wanted to type tis post a long time ago, but in e end no peace to release it. finally had it to release it today so here goes!!
the tough gets going!!
tis is an old saying which i first heard from a boyzone song. :p yesyes, i was a boyband supporter. take note. WAS. tat phase is over. cannot stand them now. especially those 183 club n 7 flowers bands... :p *evil me.
anyway, back to e main topic.
tis is just a random thought realli. as someone wanted a post-christmas-post(post post post... i not postman leh... :p love u wif e love of Christ sis), so here is it.
was thinking abt e year 2005 as a whole n happened to chance upon e newspaper talking abt e 1 year anniversary of the asian tsunami. these ppl who encountered e event realli suffered n even though relief efforts r still being carried out, e state of their land right now is still appalling. e tourism is still suffering, e ppl r living in tents n they rely on relief efforts to survive n hav no means watsoever to live on. so sad... imagine a day without food... or coke if u r ian...
:p *i'm very evil today. still suffering from last night's DOTA defeat aftershock.
(back to tsunami) yet, at e same time, i think i've never seen e world as united or as sympathetic since 9-11. in fact, i think e efforts being put into e tsunami are much greater, wif even stars like angelina jolie, beckham, zidane, gweneth paltrow etc etc etc, coming in to do their part... all combining their efforts, be it being 'embassadors' or appealing for donations. organisations like enicef, oh gosh, God bless them. they did so much.
special prayer for all those who helped in tsunami : Lord i thank You for these good-hearted ppl. bless them tremendously Lord, and may they prosper, inwardly n outwardly, and most of all, let them come to know You more. amen.
wat was i talking abt?? ohoh, tough get's going.
i always emphasize amplifying God's goodness in my blog, so no diff here.
as i was saying, with all tat destruction n devastation gg on, e good thing tat came out of it was tat e ppl r now open to e gospel. n i DUN, for once, believe tat God was e One who created e tsunami - gosh, pls, He said He would never flood e earth again, so if it's Him, He's a liar n we can't believe in God. n i can't perceive tis world being possible or logically sound if there were no God. e only one who floods now is e stupid 2 inch tall(k, i'm flattering him a little) ****head whom-shall-not-be-named(still can't forget harry... cho chang... :p). yet, e Lord uses wat e devil does to kill, steal n destroy, to turn it around. to make things good. n boy did He do a marvellous job. other than Joseph Prince Ministry(tis is like soooooooo cool. gooo pastor!), the many other christian ministries hav been gg in to bless e pple n most importantly, give them HOPE.
u know, there's tis saying...
a man may survive without food n water, but a man cannot survive without hope.
n how true. after e tsunami, many ppl were lost n feeling devastated. parents were burying their own children, kids were left to fend for themselves... they HAD food n water. but still many died - from e lack of hope. many thought tat e tsunami was an act of God, n tat He was punishing them. tat's so NOT true. yet, tat despair drove many to madness, or to just do nothing, n sit by e rescue centres seeing dead after dead being carried in n out of the rubble... before they die. e lack of hope realli destroys a man. n there's where christians come in. christians were e first 'religious'(i'm starting to hate tis word) group, who moved into e affected areas to help out. n not just materialistically, but most importantly, spiritually n emotionally. they offered a hope back to them. a REAL hope. a hope tat is willing to help them. a hope tat came n sacrificed for them. a hope tat showed n will continue showing He loves n is always loving them, wanting e best for them.
i'm sure those who come to church often enuf will always see on e tsunami updates, e number of ppl saved, healings reported, nets, boats, rice packages donated... blah blah blah. all e smiles, all e joy... n most importantly, all e hope tat e countries now have. a real hope. tat's e thing tat i'm so darn happy abt. n may God do more abundantly. hallelujah.
okok, tough gets going. how does it apply to u?? k, if u were sleeping or not paying attention to e past few paras, e following r e ones to take note.
many a times, we get thrown into situations whereby we r seemingly 'losing'. be it a financial, or favoral(is there such a word?? heck, i'm a lit student), or relationship, or emotional, or spiritual, or physical problem... we tend to face an area whereby we dun see much victory in. n thou it's easy to say, it's not easy to do when we know wat we hav to do is to JUST believe. cos seriously... how to?!?! when all we see n hear is bad stuff?!?!
n well, tat's e crux isn't it?? wat we see n hear r all bad stuff.
these situations can easily be countered.

many ways. for me, i prefer fellowship. i like to pour out my problems, be it to my mum, or dunstan, or merv, or anyone who is a christian. godly fellowship n wisdom is always e way to go, n times when we think we 'can't'(there's NO time we can't talk to Him. He's always there) talk to Him, e best thing to do is to find someone who's sound in tis area to help. godly counsel is absolutely necessary, IMO, to grow in e kingdom. if one person can glean so much... why not combine it with another!! double portion!! yeah!!
then there's ways like listening to sermons. a way which definitely is e best for most ppl. why, cos u can be damn sure tat a sermon din change to suit u, but somehow or rather, God justs enables u to hear certain things tat u've never heard before. or rather, u've heard it before, but it just never touched u tat way. hehe. familiar?? :)
there's also reading e bible, praying in tongues, etc etc etc... but to me, i still prefer fellowship. cos not only is it easier wif available help being 'tangible'(can't think of a better word), it improves e relationship of e 2 ppl as well. n as businessmen will tell u... it's all abt connections. tis one goes a little deeper. :)
okok, think i typed enuf liao. want to rest already. today is by rite, my sabbath, as sat n sun both working n serving n still MORE working... oh well, no matter. i love my job. wahahaha. kk, ciaoz, ppl!! have a very very blessed new year. more of tat to come in e next post... hopefully before next year arrives. hehe.
