a journey of faith... His faith.
ok, first things first, this post is typed at 2 different times... the red part is the part tat was typed out on the 12th, n the yellow part on the 17th.
why u ask?? well, it's becos i was prompted to start on the 12th... but somehow, i couldn't complete it. n when i went for BS tat nite. i got the reason why. Jesus' love is soooooo awesome. :)
k, here goes.
these few days have been rather 'spiritual' for me.
been reading the word a little these few days, n the scriptures r sooo awesomely connected!! let me share a few wif u guys. it's on the topic of faith... n i just know tat it's a word in season as there were signs n confirmation. haha. dunstan asked me in the car one day in regards to the verse 'ask n u shall receive'. he asked, 'why is it tat e bible says ask n u shall receive n yet everyone preaches tat u need to believe to receive??' n now i have the answer. the answer is a simple word - faith. why?? cos tat verse, 'ask n u shall receive', is said from God's point of view. God sees it tat way, e moment u ask, u receive. no qualms abt it. but why issit tat sometimes we dun receive?? where's e blessings?? why does the situation seems more like it's cursed!?!? a simple word of 'faith'. cos faith is the substance of things hoped for. the substancializing(is there such a word??? heck, i'm a lit student. muahahaha), n materialising n manifestation of things, comes by faith.
k, enuf said... let's dive into the scriptures!!
GALATIANS 3:9
9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.
ROMANS 4:16 NKJ
16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.
EPHESIANS 2:8 NKJ
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
From the scriptures above, we can see that God says tat those who are of faith are blessed. so wat does it mean to be 'of faith'?
romans 4:16 explains just tat. tat faith is according to grace. of the faith of Abraham. Abraham was not under law. he din even believe fully in God. Yes, he obeyed when God called. but look at his actions in regards to sarah. he OFFERED her to the kings. but wat happened after tat?? God blessed him. serious, go read it. did he deserve it?? no. why then was he blessed?? COS GOD IS GRACIOUS TOWARDS HIM. now put ourselves in his shoes. do we deserve His grace? NO. not you, not me, not bin laden, not anyone on this earth deserve His forgiveness. but yet, we have it, just as Abraham did. see, that God called him 'believing Abraham'. BELIEVING. why? simple, cos God cut the covenant wif him. n His views on abraham is based on that covenant n not abraham's behaviour or actions. this said, if abraham was blessed tat much, we should have a lot as well. cos we have a covenant tat's far better, FAR FAR better.
6 But as it now is, He [Christ] has acquired a [priestly] ministry which is as much superior and more excellent [than the old] as the covenant (the agreement) of which He is the Mediator (the Arbiter, Agent) is superior and more excellent, [because] it is enacted and rests upon more important (sublimer, higher, and nobler) promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been without defect, there would have been no room for another one or an attempt to institute another one.
whoa!! more important (sublimer, higher and nobler) promises!!! wat's up!! now we're talking!! show me the dough yo!!
12 For I will be merciful and gracious toward their sins and I will remember their deeds of unrighteousness no more.wooo la la... He will be merciful. He will be gracious. why? becos we have a good Mediator. a Mediator who will show His nail-pierced Hands to His Father to remind Him of the righteousness that we now inherit, that we now dwell in. woot!
ok, from that part onwards, i couldn't continue. dun noe why. so much left to type really... but just couldn't. n i stopped. n here comes the 2nd part... AFTER pastor's msg on BS. i'm SOOO getting tat CD. muahaha.
n i just linked everything up. so here goes...
tat faith is not an act, not an emotion, not something tat we strife for or work towards. it's a person - Jesus.
EPHESIANS 2:8 NKJ

it's the gift of God. THE gift of God. my Jesus. none other.

and becos of this Gift, i'm able to have every dream i've been dreaming. i'm able to RECEIVE all tat my Daddy has for me, that nothing needs to be achieved. for now i know, it's MY birthright. yes. now it's personal. for His death was for ME. His sacrifice was for ME. no, i'm not being selfish, i'm just living my life as how He sees it - just a personal walk btw Him n me. nothing else compares. nothing else matters. nothing comes close... to my Saviour tat's living in me. not my faith anymore, but His faith, His Jesus tat's living in me. oh yeah, tat feels good to say out. :)
2nd Thess 3:2-3
2 And that we may be delivered from perverse (improper, unrighteous) and wicked (actively malicious) men, for not everybody has faith and is held by it.
3 Yet the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen [you] and set you on a firm foundation and guard you from the evil [one].
see?? His faith. :)
question to all : so wat r YOUR dreams n desires?? wat r YOUR wants n needs?? i may not know the 4Ws(what where when why) but i do know the important W - Who. everything u need is found in that One. feel tat ur faith is failing n tat u need help believing for something u ask?? Hey, GOOD NEWS. fail for all i care. He wun fail, YET THE LORD IS FAITHFUL.
it's so subtle. at first, it's just pure trusting. it's just pure knowing tat God will deliver. then e devil uses 'faith' to grab us by the collar... tat we need faith to receive, which is true, but faith is not something tat u work or strife to have... faith is... *pause...

as said, yes, faith is a person. it's Jesus. He came, and died tat we might have the birthright to the blessings. n we do have it. no matter whether you believe it or not. but for those who want the blessings THAT much, only know tat the blessings r here becos u ALREADY have it. e 'emotions of believing' does NOT affect whether u receive it or not. but if u wanna conquer tat as well, look no further than the verse above... e Lord is faithful, that HE will be the ONE tat strengthens you and set you on a firm foundation. He's the one tat does all the work.
